10-Year-Old Franklin Township Boy Dies After Being Struck by a Police Car

GLOUCESTER COUNTY NJ (December 28,2014)-- A 10-year-old Franklin Township NJ boy died tonight after he was struck by a Franklin Township Police Department patrol car on Route 47 in the southern Gloucester County township.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene following the 7:04 p.m. collision at Rt. 47 (Delsea Drive) near Elmer St. The police vehicle was northbound on Rt. 47 enroute to a call at the time. The officer driving the car was the only occupant. No other vehicles were involved.

An autopsy on the deceased boy is scheduled for Monday (12/29). The fatality is being investigated by the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office.
