Meet Seeing Eye® Puppy “N.J.” at Devils Games This Season

Seeing Eye® Puppy Will Greet Fans at Devils Games and Events

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – The Devils and The Seeing Eye are teaming up to raise a yellow Labrador retriever puppy born at The Seeing Eye in March, giving him the name “N.J.,” a nod to the team’s mascot of the same name. The puppy will attend Devils games and special events this upcoming season with his volunteer puppy raisers and Devils season ticket holders, Jaime and David Hanf.

“The Seeing Eye is grateful for the support it has received from the New Jersey Devils over the years,” said Seeing Eye President and CEO Jim Kutsch. “In addition to donations it has made to our program, the team has always welcomed our puppies at their games, which provides them with valuable socialization and experiences that help shape them into confident guide dogs.”

The New Jersey Devils will offer discounted tickets to select home games this season. One of the games will be designated Seeing Eye® day. Puppies will be available to greet Devils fans in the concourse throughout the game. Dates for the 2014-2015 season are available at SeeingEye.org/Devils.

N.J. will live with the Hanfs and attend New Jersey Devils events and games for the season and return to The Seeing Eye for formal Seeing Eye® dog training when the 2014-2015 season ends. Fans who spot N.J. at events and Devils games with his puppy raisers are encouraged to tweet about it with the hashtag #NJpup and tag @SeeingEyeInc. Throughout the season tweeters will be selected to win plush toy versions of N.J. the Seeing Eye® puppy.

Established in 1929, The Seeing Eye provides specially bred and trained dogs to guide people who are blind.
