New DNREC Emergency Response Team video details work of department’s first responders

DOVER (Nov. 17, 2014) – A new video on DNREC’s YouTube Channel features the department’s Emergency Response Team (ERT), DNREC’s first responders for releases of hazardous materials and for environmental emergencies. The video can be found on the DNREC YouTube channel and provides an overview of the team and a look into their demanding line of work at a moment’s notice.

DNREC’s ERT responds to an average of over 300 incidents per year, often working them in conjunction with the State of Delaware’s Emergency Response Team, which entails the DNREC Division of Waste and Hazardous Substances and Division of Air Quality’s Environmental Prevention & Response Branch (EPRB), DNREC’s Office of Community Services’ Environmental Crimes Unit (ECU), the Delaware Emergency Management Agency (DEMA), Delaware State Fire SchoolDelaware State PoliceDelaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT), Department of Health & Social Services Division of Public Health, and local fire companies.
