John Paul McKay, of Gloucester Twp., passed peacefully with his family surrounding him on November 19, 2014. Age 89. Born November 17, 1925 in Alba, TX.
Beloved husband of Sadie W. (nee Kennedy) for 68 years. Proud father of Joanne Elaine Hirst (Bill) of Williamstown, NJ and Linda Lee Stanton (Ray) of Griffin, GA. Devoted grandfather of Jennifer Gurski Levy, Dawn Warren, Suzanne Kolmetsky, Judd Stanton, and Amanda Washington, great grandfather of 10 and great great grandfather of 1. Preceded in death by 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Paul was a graduate of Emory High School. He was a Corporal with the Army Air Corps during World War II. Paul was a member of VFW Post 3620 in Gloucester City and of Chews United Methodist Church. He retired from Western Union.
There will be a viewing from 10am to 11am Friday at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.
Funeral service 11am at the funeral home. Interment private at the request of the family.
