Gloucester City High School Soccer Alumni Game

GLOUCESTER CITY NJ (November 15, 2014)--The Gloucester City High School Soccer Alumni game was held on November 15 at the Cold Springs Elementary School soccer field, Market Street and Cold Springs Drive. This is the second year for the event which was the brainchild of Joe Meehan. Joe, who is the Gloucester City High School Boys Varsity Soccer Coach, graduated from GHS in 1999.
Asked about the contest Meehan said, "I have had the opportunity to coach the varisty team now for the last five years. I have seen a large interest in the sport during that time. The Gloucester City Youth League has grown and the players have been more competitive. I like to stay in contact with many of the players over the years so I thought an alumni game would be a great way. I began talking with mostly friends who played and former players who played for me. I posted the idea to Facebook and it really took off. Each year we have had a great turnout. I would like to thank everyone who came out to support the sport of soccer and hopefully spread the word about the alumni game for next year's contest. When the time for next year's alumni game comes arround an announcement will placed on ClearysNoteBook."
