Dante Santarelli – of Deptford on October 29, 2014. Aged 89 years
Born and raised in Abruzzi, Italy, Dante emigrated from Italy, living in Venezuela before settling and raising a family in Philadelphia’s Germantown Section, before moving to Deptford. A hardworking man, he provided for his family by working as a skilled stone mason. Prior to retirement, Dante was employed by Stanley Lanzetta, Roslyn, PA as well as Ciccozzi & Sons with whom he helped build the familiar stone homes of the “Great Northeast” section of Philadelphia.
He is the beloved husband of 58 years to Mariannina (nee Pupi); devoted father of Ivo Santarelli (Linda) and Christopher Santarelli (Karen); loving brother of Mario, Nello and the late Guido Santarelli; loving grandfather of Christina (David), Elizabeth (Jacob), Matthew, Brianna and Dominic and great-grandfather of Giavanna, Ayden and Victoria; also survived by extended family and friends in Italy and Australia.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation 12 Noon and Memorial Service 1PM Monday in the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter St., Woodbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Margaret’s Regional School, 773 Third Street, Woodbury Heights, NJ 08097.
