Armed Robbery in Arborwood Condos; Suspect Apprehended

On Saturday September 2, 2014 at 12:40 am Lindenwold Police were dispatched to the 2800 building of Arborwood Condos (511 E.Gibbsboro Road Lindenwold, NJ) for a report of an armed robbery. On arrival the Victim, a 46 yr old black male, stated the incident happened at 12:25 am as he was leaving his apartment. He was walking to his delivery truck when he was approached by tall thin black male with a handgun. The male put the gun to the Victim head and demanded he turn over everything he had. The Victim surrendered his cell phone, along with a business credit card which he retrieved from his truck. The male then struck him in the face and ran off.

A search of the area located a Suspect fitting the Victim’s description in the Woodland Village Apartments, one of the adjacent apartment complexes. After a foot pursuit the Suspect was apprehended and placed under arrest. The Victim’s cell phone and credit card were recovered from the Suspect; along with a revolver loaded with hollow point bullets.

The Suspect: Chad B.Smith, 29 yr old black male, was charged with the following:

Robbery; Unlawful Possession of a weapon; Possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes; Possession of a weapon by a convicted felon; Possession of Dum-Dum bullets; Obstruction.
He was committed to Camden County Correctional Facility in default of $205,000 full cash bail.
