Off-Track betting facility opens today in Gloucester Township

From the Favorites Facebook Page

The long awaited "Favorites" off-track wagering and sports bar opens today in Gloucester Township.  Their facebook page says the doors open July 2nd at 11:30am.   The location is on Blackwood Clementon Rd, at the former Stone Grill location.

The website lists:

  • 130 flat screen TVs
  • 50 seat bar
  • 40 private wagering carrels
  • Outside Patio

The property will be managed by Penn National Gaming, who very recently dropped their bid for the remaining Philadelphia casino license.   PNG also runs an off-track faciltity in Toms River.

Like the Toms River faciltiy, the Gloucester Township facility will be under the Freehold Raceway license.

According to the Courier-Post, a similar facility in Vineland generates $12 million a year in revenue,  Toms River $32 million, and presumably because of area population the Blackwood facility is expected to fall in the middle around $15-20 million dollars per year.

The location does seem to be a good one, with a lot of road traffic, and large communities nearby such as Deptford and Washington Twp.

A key feature they are promoting to New Jersey residents "Forget the tolls!"
