AmericanLegion_BaseballLogoPatchEWING NJ (Moody Park)--Brooklawn Post 72 won their second consecutive state title Thursday night defeating Mt. Laurel by a score of 9-4. Brooklawn, the 2013 state champion, also won the American Legion World Series last year.

The two teams played a double-header and in the earlier game Mt. Laurel won the contest on a bases loaded walk in the 9th for a final of 6-5.

Mt. Laurel had to win both games to win the state title, while Brooklawn only had to win one of the two.

Both Brooklawn and Mt. Laurel will advance to the Mid-Atlantic Regionals, August 7 through August 11, at Campbell's Field, Camden NJ. Brooklawn is the host.

Brooklawn's Tyler Mondile, pitcher, 2-0, batted .428, voted Tournament MVP.
