New utility poles installed near the trestle. In the distance is Brooklawn

ELECTRIC POWER UPGRADE CONTINUES--Work crews from PSE&G were installing Meyer transmission poles in Brooklawn near the Brooklawn Community Center over the weekend. The poles, which are about 150 feet high, will be used to carry higher voltage power lines to a new power plant that is being built in Paulsboro. Last week the workers laid down a gravel road (below) that runs parrell along the high tension wires from Market Street near Gloucester City High School to Little Timber Creek, near the borderline between GCity and Brooklawn. A worker said the new road was necessary because of the heavy equipment being used.
