U.S. Marshals Arrest Homicide Suspect in Swissvale Pa.

Reaves was arrested by U.S. Marshals Task Force members in the 2200 block of Hawthorne Street in Swissvale. Reaves had been evading capture for almost a year and was known to frequent the North Braddock, Swissvale, Rankin and Brentwood areas. As task force officers were entering the front door of the residence, Reaves attempted to flee out a rear door when confronted by two U.S. Marshals, he then headed back inside the residence and up the stairs where he attempted to flee out a front second floor bedroom window where was challenged by U.S. Marshals positioned across the street from the residence and ordered to not move. Reaves continued his flee attempt by retreated back into the residence where officers were able to apprehend him and place him under arrest without further incident. Reaves was transported and turned over to the custody of Allegheny County Homicide Detectives.
The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force is comprised of officers from the Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole, Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, Allegheny County Sheriffs, and Westmoreland County. These agencies, along with the United States Attorney’s Office, are participating members of the U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force (WPAFTF).
