We’ve all suffered through a long, cold winter and the start of spring has had its share of extreme temperature fluctuations. How does this affect your dog?
Domesticated dogs thrive on set routines; they seem to enjoy doing the same things at the same times each and every day. When the weather goes from one extreme to another it can make your dog anxious and unresponsive to commands.
If your dog seems out of sorts the weather might be the cause. Try giving Fido a little extra attention and relax the rules a bit. An extra pat or two and a longer walk may ease his anxiety. Be sure that he isn’t left alone in your yard for extended periods; he may react by digging or howling for attention. Rest assured that soon, spring will show its true colors and you and your best buddy can relax and enjoy one another’s company in the usual way.
