Legacy
A happy-go-lucky man, Deke was a guy who had a positive, upbeat attitude and “never had a bad day in his life”. He enjoyed talking to everyone and was an endless story teller. He was the happiest when he was outdoors; he had a passion for fishing, which he did daily and also enjoyed camping. Prior to retirement in 1995, Deke was employed with AMSPEC Chemical Company, Gloucester City and then, following retirement, worked as a crossing guard for Woodbury and West Deptford. He was a longtime, proud member of Goodwill and Friendship Fire Departments.

Family
He is the beloved husband of 52 years to Ethel (nee Brosius); devoted father of Denise and Doreen; loving grandfather of Stephanie; loving son of the late Philomena (nee Luciano) and Enrico; dear brother of Edith, Lucille, Annie, Lenora and the late Dominic, Frank and Julia.

Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Deke’s viewing 10 AM and funeral service 11 AM Friday in the McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter St., Woodbury.. Interment Woodbury Memorial Park, West Deptford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: American Diabetes Association, 150 Monument Rd, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
