Mexican Drug Cartel Member Pleads Guilty to Selling Cocaine and Meth

4-16-14-Luis_Gonzalez-ContrerasHARRISBURG - Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane today announced that a Lehigh Valley man entered an open guilty plea following allegations that he sold large quantities of cocaine and crystal methamphetamine throughout Allentown and the Lehigh Valley. 

Luis Gonzalez-Contreras, a Mexican national and purported cartel associate, entered the plea before Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas Judge Robert L Steinberg. Gonzalez-Contreras is scheduled to be sentenced on May 29, 2014.

Gonzalez-Contreras pled guilty to eight counts of delivery of methamphetamine, two counts of corrupt organizations, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, one count of delivery of cocaine, one count of criminal conspiracy and one count of criminal use of a communication facility.

The Office of Attorney General is committed to working with local and national law enforcement agencies to cripple drug trafficking rings and remove the threat that Mexican drug cartels bring to our communities.
