Wednesday, April 30, 2014
VINELAND NJ--Fr. Michael White, whose parish tripled its weekly Mass attendance and experienced an increase in service to church and community, will speak on “Making Church Matter” on Thursday, May 1, at the Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, 1655 Magnolia Road, Vineland, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Fr. White is the co-author of Rebuilt and Tools for Rebuilding, books that explore what parishes can do to help renew faith life. He is the pastor of the Church of the Nativity in Timonium, Md., a part of the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
In his May 1 presentation Fr. White, along with Brian Crook, a parish staff member, will describe how the Church of the Nativity was renewed and offer tips on what churches can do to generate increased enthusiasm and commitment and service.
In preparation for the presentation, many parishioners throughout the Diocese of Camden have studied Fr. White’s books. Some of his insights have already been incorporated into various ministries at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Sicklerville, and other parishes.
