Gas Station Investigation Yields Several Ounces of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia
Friday, March 07, 2014
The sales would occur from within the business, an exterior glass kiosk by the gas pumps, and Khaleque’s personal vehicle. It was determined that Abu T. Khaleque was an attendant / employee of the gas station. The owner/proprietor of the business was not involved in criminal activity and cooperated with the investigation.
On March 5, 2014, Officers executed a search warrant at the Shell Gas Station located at 1400 Blackwood-Clementon Road in Gloucester Township. Several ounces of marijuana, numerous packing materials, and a significant quantity of U.S. currency were recovered. Khaleque was charged with one (1) count of Distribution of CDS (3rd degree), eight (8) counts of Distribution of CDS (4th degree), Possession of Marijuana over 50 grams (4th degree), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Disorderly Persons). He was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility in default of $10,000.00/10% bail.
Manmohanpreet “Happy” Singh, a 41 year old man from Lindenwold and co-worker, was also arrested pursuant to the search warrant on March 5, 2014 for Distribution of Drug Paraphernalia (4th degree). He was released pending a court appearance.
The arrest of these individuals is another example of the continued enhanced criminal enforcement campaigns targeting those who illegally distribute narcotics in Gloucester Township. The Gloucester Township Police Department will continue to attack the abuse and sale of narcotics in our community.
