GTPD Arrests Two Males For Misleading The Public For Phony Donations


6a00d8341bf7d953ef0192ac0fcbe5970d-120wiOn February 4, 2014 at approximately 7:17 PM, the Gloucester Township Police Department received a report from a citizen on two suspicious black males asking people for money in the area of the K-Mart store located at 1468 Blackwood Clementon Road.

GTPD officers responded to the K-Mart and located the reported suspicious males. The investigation revealed that the two males were fictitiously collecting money under the name of the “The Public Schools Athletic League."  The subjects were also found in possession of two clipboards with numerous alleged names and signatures with amounts they fraudulently collected.

Lance L. Reynolds - 20 year old, from 100 black of Maynard Drive in Sicklerville, NJ 08081. He was charged with Hindering Apprehension and Theft By Deception then released on a criminal summons pending court.
Curtis L. Coney Jr. - 25 year old male from the 200 Block of Keats Drive in Sicklerville, NJ 08081. He was charged with Theft by Deception and had a failure to appear warrant. He was remanded to Camden County Correctional Facility in default of bail. 

In other matters, GTPD on February 2, 2014 at approximately 3:20 AM, an officer from the department located a white Saturn driving on Blackwood Clementon Road that was reported stolen out of Atlantic City, NJ. With the assistance from Lindenwold and Pine Hill police departments the vehicle was stopped as the driver, David Richardson, was taken into custody without issue. He initially provided a false name to officers but was later found to have several outstanding warrants.

The accused, David Richardson, was charged with receiving stolen property, hindering his apprehension and issued several traffic summons. He was remanded to Camden County Jail in default of posting a bail of $20,000.
The vehicle's owner responded to GTPD headquarters where the vehicle was later returned.
