(Camden, NJ) – A motor vehicle stop Thursday led to the arrest of a male suspect who was in possession of two rifles, hollow point bullets and marijuana.
Just after 5:20 p.m. while on directed patrol addressing quality of life issues near the corner of 7th and Chestnut streets in Bergen Square, Officer Andrew Coulter conducted a motor vehicle stop to investigate a suspicious vehicle. The investigation led to the arrest of driver Daquan Rodriguez, 18, of Camden, and the recovery of two rifles – a Marlin Model 880 Micro Groove Barrel .22 caliber rifle and a Marlin Model 30AS Micro Grove Barrel 30/30 rifle – a box of 30 rounds of .22 caliber rifle ammunition, including four hollow point rounds, and two containers of marijuana from the vehicle.
Rodriguez was charged with two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, one count of Possession of Hollow Point Bullets and one count of Possession of Marijuana Under 50 grams. He was remanded to the county jail with bail set at 10 percent of $45,000.
