Aggravated Assault at 5300 building of The Pines Apartments

S-crimeOn February 26, 2014 at 9:28am the Lindenwold Police Department responded to the area of the 5300 building of the Pines at Arborwood Apartments for an assault in progress. As the first officer arrived, he observed a woman on the ground and a male on top of her with his hands around her throat. Assisting units arrived quickly and the male was taken into custody. The 52 year old victim was transported by ambulance to Cooper Trauma Center in Camden with multiple stab wounds.

The investigation revealed that a maintenance worker who was in the area at the time heard the victim screaming and came to her aid. He also observed the attack in progress and pushed the assailant off of the woman and called police.

As a result of the actions of the maintenance worker and the quick response of the officers, Ted Bockarie, age 24 yrs, of Lindenwold was charged with Criminal Attempt Murder, Aggravated Assault, and multiple weapons offenses. He was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility in default of $ 1,000,000.00 bail.

At last report the Victim was in stable condition and scheduled to be released from the hospital into her Daughter’s care later this evening.
