Former Gloucester City resident John Pierman is one of hundreds of people preparing the MetLife Stadium for this Sunday's NFL Super Bowl XLVIII game.
EAST RUTHERFORD NJ--This week John Pierman has one of the best jobs in the world. He is working with hundreds of other people at the MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford NJ, getting the site ready for the 48th Annual Super Bowl on Sunday.
Pierman, a former resident of Gloucester City who now lives in Deptford, works for *Tri State Staging Inc., owned by Chuck Ogle. Pierman is a member of The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Local 8, Philadelphia. Members of Local 632 of the IATSE, Paramus are also working on the job.
When asked about his duties Pierman said, “I have been with Local 8 Stagehands out of Philadelphia since 2000. I have been a video tech for Tri-State Staging since 2001. My boss, Chuck Ogle, of Moorestown, own's Tri-State Staging. He has the contract for MetLife Stadium as well as other venues such as the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden and Lincoln Financial Field in Philly. I work for him as a video tech most of the time, they are all union venues.”

Question: Will you be on the field during the game or up in the press box?
Pierman: I was working as a video tech and a lighting tech for the first week. Since then I have been in halftime, post game and trophy ceremony rehearsals doing stagehand work.
Question: How big of a crew does it take to put something like the super bowl together? A rough estimate.
Pierman: Hundreds from all over the world.
Question: Have you been staying in East Rutherford or have you been commuting back and forth each day?
Pierman: We are staying in Rutherford. It is exactly 0.76 of a mile away from the
stadium, so thank GOD.
Question: Besides Lady GaGa, what other celebrities have you worked with or met?
Pierman: Hundreds, but my favorites were Bill Clinton, Willie Nelson, James Brown, The Rock, Bon Jovi, Springsteen, Dave Matthews, Jonah Hill, Bradley Cooper and Mark Wahlberg.
John, who is 30-years-old, graduated from Gloucester City High School in 2001. In 2011 he graduated from the Art Institute, Philadelphia, with a Bachelor of Science in Digital Film and Video Production with a minor in Theater Production.
The son of Jim and Kathie Pierman, John is a member of the Two Street Stompers of Brooklawn. His paternal grandparents are Mary and Mary Ann Pierman and Sam Pierman Sr. Maternal grandparents, John and Stella Loope
