A record has been set in Jersey City, and it may surprise you just what it's for.
One of last available units at K. Hovnanian's 77Hudson, the 49-story residential building on the waterfront, has sold for a cool $2.8 million.
This sale marks the highest price ever paid for a residential condominium in Jersey City, according to 77 Hudson's broker Scott Waldman.
The residence – which is a penthouse unit on the 48th floor – has two bedrooms, and boasts just 2,100 square feet of living space.
"A comparable 2,100 square-foot condominium on the west side ofManhattan would cost between $5 to 7 million, if you could find it," Waldman said.
While the price point is shocking, the building that encompasses it is impressive in its own right, being named one of the 10 tallest buildings in New Jersey by NJ Spotlight.
The building also lists a fitness center, private spa, massage room, pool, hot tub, jogging path, golf simulator, and on-site dog run as available amenities.
