PITTSGROVE, N.J. - Schalick (Pittsgrove, N.J.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as Deandre Solomon ran for a touchdown with 5:00 remaining, bringing the team to victory over Gloucester City High School, Gloucester City (N.J.) 27-18.
After nabbing the lead on a touchdown run, the Lions went into halftime with a 13-6 lead. The Cougars took the lead to win the game on a touchdown run by Solomon in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring seven points in the third, Schalick still trailed by six points going into the fourth quarter. But 13 points in the fourth helped SHS pull out the victory.
A 47-45 Schalick victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Cougars, who lost to Gloucester Catholic last week, 19-14. The loss comes after Gloucester City defeated Pitman 18-14 last week.
