Exclusive for CNBNEWS.NET

The 24th Shoprite of Brooklawn – Barth / Mc Carthy Wiffleball Reunion will be held 6a00d8341bf7d953ef0192aad3a700970d-500wi this Saturday beginning 10 am at the Joe Barth Field  (Rt 130 & Browning Rd). Former Brooklawn residents and friends of Brooklawn will converge on the Joe Barth field to relive the memories of their childhood.

This year’s event begins with the 32 team double elimination at 10:00 am and ending with the 8:00 pm Championship game under the lights.  During the day; Reunion Founder Tom Mac Adams will host a concert featuring local vocalist Rachel Dickerman (3pm – 4pm) followed by the Jonathn Ashe Band (direct from the Borgata 4pm – 7pm) performing music from the 60’s and the concert ends with Danny Beissel (7pm - ?). Proceeds from the days event will go to the ALS Society.

Again this year it appears the CNBnews team will oppose the local favorite Tummy Tee’s team. But many other are posting their own claim to the Championship game. Both the Penns Grove gang and the Haller / Brooklawn Kids are up and coming teams but may be a few years away from being a serious threat. While we are speaking about threats the Legend of Joe Scully may be making a comeback from the rumor mill. The Spingler Flooring team an odds on favorite, will be the early talk of the tourney but will again be unable to perform after a 4th game. Shane Mac Adams / Darrow will again team up as the Wood & Kennedy teamand are looking to improve on last year’s quarter-finals loss. Not to be out done will be the Sportz Central and Ciconti Pizza teams . Sportz Central is young but challenging and Ciconti Pizza is making its first appearance in the big show.

Throw in the Massengale’s (looking for 12th win in 20 years), out of retirement Rebstock, Woodbury’s Norton (they play in Woodbury?) and the Jeep Mac Adams (Scott’s gang) and you find that this reunion just can’t say no to anyone interested in playing.

With all this happening – sit back and enjoy a fun day for all.
