SAINT JOSEPH’S MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY PICKED SECOND OVERALL

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Saint Joseph’s men’s cross country team has been picked to finish second at the 2013 Atlantic 10 Men’s Cross Country Championship, according to the conference’s preseason poll released on Monday.
Finishing second only to La Salle in the poll, Saint Joseph’s, the 2012 Atlantic 10 runner-up, has set its sights on their its first conference championship since 2009 after posting consecutive top three championship finishes. Junior Logan Mohn (Shillington, Pa./Governor Mifflin), one of two returning 2012 top 10 finishers, returns to lead the Hawks after posting a seventh-place overall finish last year.
In addition to the All-Conference selection, the Crimson and Gray return four more scorers from last season in seniors Michael Rankin (Turnersville, N.J./Paul VI) (23rd), Aaron Leskow (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) (29th), and Tommy O’Kane (Ambler, Pa./La Salle College) (40th) and junior Paul Szulewski (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) (37th).
The 2013 Atlantic 10 Men’s Cross Country Championship will be hosted by the University of Richmond at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Va. on November 2.
The Hawks will begin their regular season on Saturday, August 31 at the TCNJ Blue/Gold Classic in Pennington, N.J. Start time is scheduled for 9:00 a.m.

Hawks Return Five Scorers from 2012

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Saint Joseph’s women’s cross country team has been picked to finish sixth at the 2013 Atlantic 10 Women’s Cross Country Championship, according to the conference’s preseason poll released on Monday.
The Hawks took eighth at the 2012 Atlantic 10 Championship behind the All-Conference effort of current senior Emma Slattery’s (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) eighth-place individual finish. The Crimson and Gray return four additional scorers in seniors Hannah Fuller (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) (51st) and Elizabeth Barrett (Jenkintown, Pa./Saint Basil Academy)(62nd) and sophomores Lauren Hehir (Washingtonville, N.Y./Washingtonville) (83rd) and Sara Radzwilka (Exeter, Pa./Wyoming Area) (84th).
