Robert "Silent" Smith, Gloucester High Alumnus Class of '52, Lineman for the Gloucester Mustangs

Robert R. Smith, died Wednesday, August 7, 2013 in Santa Cruz, California at the age of 79. Photo  Bob was born in Gloucester City, NJ on February 2, 1934, the sixth  of seven children of parents, Otis P. and Sara R. Smith.

Bob graduated from Gloucester City High School in 1952.  "Silent Smith" played lineman for the Gloucester Mustangs from 1954 until 1963.  Bob was an accountant for Rhomm & Haas Chemical Company and later for HUD and the US Army in San Francisco, CA.  Bob retired to Santa Cruz, CA.  Bob was active in Animal Rights Organizations and left behind many California friends.  

Bob is survived by his sisters, Grace Henefer, 85, Thorofare, NJ, and Shirley Lance, 75, Minotola, NJ, and his brother Otis P. Smith, Jr., 82, Gloucester City, NJ.  Also 20 nieces and nephews.
