Pittsburgh man charged with distributing child pornography, faces deportation if convicted

HARRISBURG - Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane identified the defendant as Gerardo Perez Bercian, 610 Cliffside Manor, Apt. 83, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County. He is charged with six counts of possessing child pornography, three counts of distributing child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communication facility.
Agents conducting an online investigation found numerous online files that contained depictions of children under the age of 18 engaged in sexually graphic acts and poses.
Bercian was living in the United States under his brother's identity, according to the criminal complaint. He faces deportation to Mexico City if convicted.
He is being held in the Allegheny County Jail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 29 before District Justice Tara Smith.
Kane thanked the Ohio Township Police Department, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and the City of Pittsburgh Police for their assistance with the investigation.
The case will be prosecuted in Allegheny County by Deputy Attorney General Anthony Marmo of the Attorney General?s Child Predator Section.
