Pool Safety Tips
- Swimming pools are the most common site for a drowning to occur for children ages 1 to 4.
- Empty all tubs, buckets, containers, and inflatable/portable wading pools immediately after use.
- Never leave your child unattended around water. Babies can drown in as little as one inch of water.
- Make sure backyard pools have four-sided fencing and a self-closing, self-latching gate.
- Take the time to learn CPR and to educate your kids about swimming safety.
Personal flotation devices are an important component of pool safety for young children. Water wings and noodles are not considered personal flotation devices.
