Christopher Hyatt (DOB 8/21/93), of 110 Andaloro Way, Westville, and Roberto Mercado (DOB 12/18/91), of 118 No. 27th St., Camden pleaded guilty today (6/27) to the robbery of an elderly couple in their Westville home on 10/26/12.
Under terms of a plea agreement, Assistant Gloucester County Prosecutor Bryant Flowers will recommend that Hyatt, who also pleaded guilty to another robbery and a burglary, be sentenced to eight years in New Jersey state prison and that he served 85 percent of the term before he is eligible for parole.

Hyatt and Mercado acknowledged entering the Hillside Ave. home of an 89 year-old man and his 82 year old wife, assaulting him and forcibly taking cash in a purse from his wife. The two then fled. Hyatt was arrested 11/18/12 in connection with a Deptford burglary and Mercado was taken into custody 11/19/12.
Hyatt also pleaded guilty to the theft of jewelry from a unit of the Chestnut Lane Apartments in Deptford on 4/17/12 and a robbery at a Trilby Ave. home in Deptford on 11/4/12 in which the victim pulled her wallet away from Hyatt before he fled.
