Roy Crawford Sentenced to 8 Year Prison Term for Distribution of CDS/cnbnews.net

Roy L. Crawford III (DOB 4/15/75), of 14 Burich La., Bridgeton NJ was sentenced today (6/28) to eight years in New Jersey state prison after pleading guilty to a second degree charge of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance.
Superior Court Judge Walter L. Marshall Jr. said Crawford will be ineligible for parole for the first 3 1//2 years of his prison term. In sentencing, the judge cited Crawford’s criminal record which includes several narcotics and weapons convictions dating to 1994 and two attempted murder convictions, the most recent in Bridgeton in 2000 resulting in a 15-year prison sentence with a 6-year parole ineligibility.
Crawford was arrested following the controlled purchase of 7.6 ounces of marijuana and Oxycodone pills in Deptford Township NJ on 6/3/11. Following negotiations with Assistant Gloucester County Prosecutor Alec Gutierrez, he pleaded guilty to the distribution charge 1/14/13.
