Hoffman announced that a South Brunswick man pleaded guilty today to a drug distribution charge for participating in a ring that purchased illegal drugs known as “bath salts” from China for distribution in New Jersey.Jason Oliveira, 24, of South Brunswick, pleaded guilty to a second-degree charge of distribution of methylone before Superior Court Judge Bradley J. Ferencz in Middlesex County. Today two classes of police dog and handler teams from 13 different agencies graduated from the New Jersey State Police Canine Academy in a ceremony at Stockton State College. The extensive training programs prepared them for either patrol duties or tracking assignments, with 22 teams one school and two teams completing both schools. Today’s commencement was highlighted by graduating dogs receiving their badges and a number of retired dogs with their handlers receiving recognition for a job well done. The Philadelphia Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the subject responsible for the attempted robbery on June 21, 2013, of the Bank of America branch located inside a ShopRite store at 3745 Aramingo Avenue in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia. MONDAY, JUNE 24, 2013--Camden County Prosecutor Warren W. Faulk and Gloucester Township Police Chief Harry Earle reported an investigation into the cause of death of a woman found in the township this morning. The body was located by Gloucester Township Police and a State Police K-9 unit about 11:47 a.m. near the Lakeview Apartments on the 500 block of Lower Landing Road. The officers were in the area while conducting a search for a woman reported missing from those apartments. The cause of death and the identity of the deceased have not been determined, and are not going to be determined until an autopsy can be conducted. The autopsy is likely to be performed Tuesday. Hoffman announced that a father and son from central New Jersey were sentenced to prison today for stealing more than a million dollars in a scheme in which the father promised to rescue homeowners who were facing foreclosure, but instead sold their homes to unwitting investors. Vito Grippo, 58, of Jackson, was sentenced to 10 years in state prison by Superior Court Stuart Peim in Union County. He was also ordered to pay full restitution to his victims. He pleaded guilty on Feb. 27, 2013 to a criminal accusation charging him with second-degree theft by failure to make required disposition of property received and third-degree money laundering.
