2013 Governor's Environmental Excellence Awards

(June 21, 2013)--The NJ Department of Environmental Protection has announced that the application for the 2013 Governor's Environmental Excellence Awards is now available. Completed applications must be received by DEP staff by Friday, September 6th at 5:00 p.m. 

The Governor's Environmental Excellence Awards Program is New Jersey's premier awards program for recognizing outstanding environmental performance, programs and projects throughout the

state. These awards recognize individuals, businesses, educators, institutions, communities, organizations, youth and others who have made significant contributions to environmental protection in New Jersey. 

To date, 126 entities have been recognized since the awards program was established in 2000. Nominations can be submitted for the following categories: Clean Air, Healthy Ecosystems, Water Resources, Land Conservation, Healthy and Sustainable Communities and Businesses, Innovative Technology, Environmental Education and the new "Environmentalist of the Year" category.

The Governor's Environmental Excellence Awards Program is sponsored by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the New Jersey Corporation for Advanced Technology, in partnership with the New Jersey State League of Municipalities.
