GLOUCESTER, NJ -- Three Gloucester Catholic High School seniors -- Devin McCall, Nicholas Marks and Brandon Wethman -- each received admission to the United States Military Academy at West Point, GCHS Principal John Colman is proud to announce.

The appointments mark the first time in Gloucester Catholic’s 83-year history that three seniors have been admitted to the prestigious West Point academy simultaneously. The students were nominated by their local Congressmen earlier in the school year and recently were notified of their appointments.

Nominated from New Jersey's 2nd Congressional District by Rep. Frank Lobiondo was Brandon Wethman.Nominated from New Jersey's 1st Congressional District by Rep. Rob Andrews wereDevin McCall and Nicholas Marks.

r Leaders Seminar (SLS) in June 2012. He was also a member of Gloucester Catholic’s chapter of the Civil Air Patrol and President of the school's Marian Chapter of the National Honor Society among his many activities. Marks and McCall are members of Gloucester Catholic’s boys’ swim team and were among the top swimmers in New Jersey the past two seasons. The three seniors are also among Gloucester Catholic’s top students academically in the Class of 2013.

According to the 1st Congressional District site, applicants are judged on character, scholarship, leadership, physical aptitude, medical fitness, goals, and motivation in determining each nominee’s “whole person” evaluation.
