On May 28, 2013, a Gloucester Township Police officer patroling the Maple Terrace Apartments came across a suspicious vehicle parked in a back parking lot of the complex. As the officer approached the vehicle, he observed William B. Harris entering the vehicle which was full of scrap metal from kitchen appliances.
The investigations revealed that William Harris had entered three abandonded apartments and was removing numerous metal items consisting of stove parts, range hoods and other metallic kitchen items. A check with management revealed that William Harris had no permission to be on the grounds of the apartment complex and that the apartments should have been secured.
William Harris was transported to headquarters and charged with Burglary, Theft, Criminal Mischief, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance Paraphernalia. He was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility on default of $25,000.00 cash bail.
