Murphy Leads GC Baseball Past St. Joseph’s Metuchen; Lady Rams Edge Camden Catholic!

Behind the pitching of sophomore John Murphy and the hitting of Phil Dickinson and Sean Breen, Gloucester Catholic blanked St. Joseph Metuchen 10-0 in five innings on May 29 to advance in the NJSIAA Non-Public A playoffs.

Murphy struck out nine for the win while Dickinson and Breen had three hits apiece to lead the victory. The Rams will now host Paul VI in the semifinal round on Friday, May 31, at Joe Barth Field starting at 3:30 p.m.

The Lady Rams, meanwhile, edged Camden Catholic 3-2 in 8 innings on May 29 thanks to the pitching and hitting of senior Abby Merryman. Gloucester Catholic will face St. John Vianney on the road on May 31 starting at 3 p.m.
