On May 13, 2013. Age 78. Of Gloucester City. Son of the late John and Georgana Banning.
ImageBeloved husband of 53 years to the late Dolores “Pat” Banning (nee Lafferty). Loving father of Eileen Smith (James), John J. Banning (Lisa), William Banning (Catherine) and the late Dolores Banning. Cherished grandfather of  12 and great grandfather of 4. Dear brother of Rosemarie Rakita (late William) and the late Katherine Philbin (surviving James). Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.   

John was a longtime resident of Gloucester City and the owner / operator of Pat and Jack’s Tavern for over 35 years. He had worked for the railroad and retired from Conrail. Raised in South Philadelphia, he moved to Deptford, NJ in the late 50’s and later moved to Gloucester City. 

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his viewing on Saturday morning from 10 AM to 12 Noon at St. Mary’s R.C. Church: 426 Monmouth St., Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday 12 Noon in the church. Interment New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.
