- Headquarters: FBI Mourns the Loss of Two Special Agents Killed in Training Exercise
Special Agents Christopher Lorek and Stephen Shaw, members of the FBI’s elite Hostage Rescue Team, were tragically killed Friday, May 17 during a training exercise off the coast of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Yudong Zhu, Xing Yang, and Ye Li, who worked on improving MRI technology at a university in New York, were each charged with one count of commercial bribery in connection with a conspiracy to receive payments in exchange for providing non-public information about research conducted at the university. Arturo Rojas-Coyotl, Odilon Martinez-Rojas and Severiano Martinez-Rojas, all of Tlaxcala, Mexico, were indicted on charges of sex trafficking and alien harboring for allegedly using force, fraud, and coercion to compel three women to engage in prostitution in Atlanta and Norcross, Georgia.
