(cnbnews.net) It is with deep and sadden heart that the Tacoma Fire Company announce the untimely

Image passing of Carl David Thomas, age 52, of Deptford, formerly of Westville, who died at his home on May 19, 2013. 


Carl was a past secretary for the fire company. Carl started his public service with the Independent Fire Company of Westville from 1977 to 1988 then served with the newly formed Westville Fire Department.  He became a member of the Brooklawn Fire Company and served as its Fire Chief for two years. Carl was instrumental in starting and running a BLS ambulance for the Borough of Brooklawn and served as its Captain. Carl Joined the Deptford Fire Department and was highly visible with the Fire Explorer Program for many years. He worked for Camden County Alarm Room as a dispatcher for Fire & EMS squads. 


His son, Michael and daughter Melissa currently serve with the Deptford Fire Department. His daughter Kristen, serves as a firefighter with Brooklawn Fire Department and as an EMT with the Brooklawn EMS. Carl was a dispatcher with the Camden County Alarm Room.


Survived by his son Michael; 2 daughters Kristen; Melissa Gaughan; 3 brothers Rodney; William; Richard; 2 sisters Carolyn Kitchen; Christine Lowery; a granddaughter Peyton Scomolla and beloved companion of Nancy Roskey.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday, May 23, from 7-9 PM at the ELLIS-STIEFEL FUNERAL HOME 301 Highland Ave., Westville, NJ. His funeral service will be Friday 11:00 AM at the funeral home where friends may call after 9:30 AM.
