CHEFS’ FOR PAWS DINNER | cnbnews.net

Celebrity Chefs Showcase Culinary Talents for Annual Fundraiser

WHAT:          On Monday, June 24th, 2013 starting at 6:00pm, the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society will host the culinary extravaganza of the year with the 9th Annual Chefs’ for PAWS dinner! Guests will wine and dine at the Lincoln Financial Field – SCA Club Level while they mingle with over 40 Nationally Renowned Chefs’, including Top Chef Kevin Sbraga (Sbraga), Jean-Marie Lacroix (Brûlée Catering), Guillermo Pernot (Cuba Libre), Joey Campanaro (Little Owl, NY), Douglas Rodriguez (Alma de Cuba, Miami), Christopher Lee (Sophia’s & Huntingdon Social, NY) and Andy Husbands (Tremont 647, Boston) for a great cause! Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit PAWS, and its capital campaign funding subsidized public spay/neuter services and primary veterinary care at their new Northeast Philadelphia location.

Experience a one-of-a-kind view inside some of the nation’s most prestigious kitchens as chefs from Philadelphia and beyond showcase their talents for twelve lucky guests in decorated pods throughout the Lincoln Financial Field – SCA Club Level! The evening will begin with a cocktail hour, featuring hors d’oeuvres from seven area restaurants with a full bar courtesy of Brown Forman liquors.

Guests will then join their tables for a three-course dinner, presented by the selected chef, accompanied with wine pairings. The evening’s festivities come to a close with desserts by seven sweets purveyors. A VIP Chef After Party featuring Rita’s Spiked Ice, allows guests to meet all of the celebrity chefs and recount their culinary experiences.

"Yet another exciting year of food, wine, music and fundraising for a great cause. This will be our biggest year ever with more than 60 restaurants participating and 600+ guests attending. The Chefs' Dinner funds our annual capital campaign and its lifesaving initiatives, our 3rd Adoption Center and Wellness Clinic, which offers spay/neuter and primary veterinary care. This additional location directly benefits the homeless, surrendered and abandoned animals of Philadelphia by giving them another outlet to find their forever homes. The support of the chef community and our generous sponsors is humbling and greatly appreciated. As we say at PAWS, ‘They Won't Make It Without You.’ Thank you to everyone who makes this event and PAWS' mission possible,” said Dana Spain, Founder and President of PAWS.

This year’s sponsors for the silent auction will include: Distante haberdahery for men and women; hotel and dining packages by The Four Seasons and The Ritz Carlton Philadelphia; pet accommodation packages by Philly Pet Hotel, and a wine and liquor auction courtesy of Bernard Spain, among other great prizes.

VIP sponsors can join the “Chefs’ after Party,” from 10:00PM to 12:00AM where guests will be served “Spiked Ice” courtesy of Rita’s Water Ice.

About PAWS:

PAWS is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving Philadelphia’s homeless, abandoned, and unwanted animals. PAWS is Philadelphia's largest rescue organization and only no-kill shelter, and is working to make Philadelphia a city in which every healthy and treatable pet is guaranteed a home. Through its adoption locations, special events, and foster care network, PAWS finds loving homes for thousands of animals each year.

PAWS' efforts are based out of its boutique-style Adoption Center in Philadelphia’s Old City neighborhood, which showcases adoptable animals in an inviting setting, and its low-cost Spay/Neuter and Wellness Clinic, which is located in Grays Ferry and provides basic veterinary care to animals who would not otherwise receive it. PAWS' clinic serves more than 15,000 pets annually, primarily serving pet owners who have difficulty affording or do not have access to basic veterinary care (sterilization, vaccinations, treatments for upper respiratory infections/parasites/fleas, etc.) and rescue organizations that need affordable spay/neuter surgery and basic veterinary care to carry out their lifesaving work.

All of PAWS’ efforts are privately funded and are aimed at reducing the homeless pet population, keeping pets healthy, and ending the city’s use of euthanasia as a means of population control for healthy and treatable pets. Support for PAWS funds lifesaving initiatives including adoption and foster care programs, spay/neuter surgeries, low-cost vaccinations, and other efforts, all of which help reduce and will ultimately eliminate the unnecessary killing of Philadelphia's animals. Donations to PAWS are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. With your help, PAWS is working toward making Philadelphia a city in which every healthy and treatable pet is guaranteed a home. For more information visit www.phillypaws.org
