Robert E. Swanson, Jr., on March 23, 2013, of Bellmawr. Age 60.

Beloved husband of Theresa (nee Stelmach). Loving father of Laura A. Swanson and Kristen V. Swanson of Rochester, NY. Devoted Pop-Pop of Kyle. Dear brother of Anna Schuda (Mike), John (Fran), Tommy (Tracy), Rich (Jacki) and Patty Marinaro. Brother-in-law of Jim Stelmach (Pat), Ray Stelmach, Kathy Aders (Mickey) and Dianne McCormick (Bob). Devoted son of the late Gertrude & Robert E. Swanson, Sr. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and close friends.

Sgt. Swanson faithfully served the Bellmawr Police Department from 1982 until he retired in April 2011. Anyone who knew him, knows he had an unwavering dedication to the community, most especially to it’s children. He served as the lead DARE instructor for two decades and there was not a single child or parent who did not know of him, and more often than not, knew him personally as Bobby. Sgt Swanson was extremely proud of his service with both the Bellmawr Police Department and the Bellmawr Park Volunteer Fire Department. During his retirement Bob enjoyed golfing.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the viewing from 6 to 9pm Tuesday evening and from 8:00 to 9:00am Wednesday morning at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.

Funeral Mass 10am at St. Joachim Parish, Annunciation BVM Church, Bellmawr.

Interment New St. Mary’s Cemetery.
