GLOUCESTER COUNTY PROSECUTORS OFFICE PRESS RELEASE
MARCH 15, 2013--In a five-hour overnight sweep, teams of municipal county, state and federal officers arrested 21 fugitives on Thursday (3/14) including some suspects wanted in freshly-committed crimes.
The 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. operation was organized by the fugitive unit of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office and involved members of the Deptford, Woodbury and Westville police departments, the Camden-based US Marshal’s Service, New Jersey State Police K-9 units and the mobile booking team of the Gloucester County Department of Corrections. About 40 officers participated.
All arrests were accomplished without injuries and without the need for pursuits. “This was well-prepared and safely executed work by all agencies,” said Gloucester County Prosecutor Sean F. Dalton.
Suspects included some wanted on municipal court warrants and others for whom Superior Court bench warrants had been issued. Some were collateral arrests of persons who did not have outstanding warrants. Arrest teams focused on individuals who were habitual offenders, gang members and those wanted for violent crimes. The sweep also succeeded as an intelligence-gathering operation to further ongoing investigations in northeastern Gloucester County.
A notable arrest was that of Jason Holland (DOB 7/15/92), of Paulsboro, charged with beating and robbing an individual in Glassboro on March 4, 2013. He is being held in jail in default of $25,000 bail.
