Russell E. Hoffman, Sr., age 86, died on February 17, 2013 at his home in West Deptford where
he lived since 1956. Russell was born and raised in Gloucester City, NJ. He was a graduate of Gloucester High School in 1944 where he played football. Russell served in the US Army during World War II from 1944-1946. Upon returning from the war, Russ played football for the Mustangs, a semi pro football team. He worked for RCA, retiring after 30 years in 1986. Russell was a member of the Gloucester City "Ray Ford" Old Timers. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family and enjoying all their activities.
He was predeceased by his son Russell E., Jr. "Rusty", his brother Clarence Jr. and his wife Emma (nee Keller). He is survived by his wife of 65 years Tresa (nee Keller), daughter Debbie (Jeff) Lyons, granddaughters Stacey Lyons (Rob Garish), Michele Lyons and Marci Lyons, great granddaughters Kylee and Brianna, nieces Donna (Ron) Henefer, Nancy (Greg) Forchic, Janet (Al) Kaczorowski, Diane Newcomb, Edie (Chal) Asman, great nieces and nephews Nancy Lynn Henefer, Ron (Lorraine) Henefer, Tom (Siobhan) Henefer, Dennis (Lori) Forchic, Darrin (Becky) Forchic, Derek (Erin) Forchic and many more great great nieces and nephews.
Private memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family in the Budd Funeral Home, Woodbury, NJ. Memories may be shared at www.buddfuneralhome.com.
