GLOUCESTER CITY POLICE PRESS RELEASE February 22, 2013
GLOUCESTER CITY NJ--February 21, at 1730 a search warrant was executed at 215 Mercer Street after an investigation into the distribution of narcotics from the residence. Both targets of the investigation, a father and son, were arrested inside of the residence. A quantity of oxycontin pills, marijuana and cash were recovered. John McLean (30), a member of the Bloods street gang and his father, Milton McLean (64) were both charged with Possession of CDS with the Intent to Distribute. John McLean was remanded to the Camden County Jail.
IN OTHER MATTERS,
On 02/08 at 1940 a resident of the 400 block of St. John Street reported that unknown suspect(s) threw a billiards ball through the rear window of the residence.
On 02/09 at 2006 a resident of Stites Ave reported that unknown suspect(s) threw a billiards ball through the front window of the residence.
On 02/10 at 1300 maintenance at Cold Springs School reported that unknown suspect(s) threw a billiards ball through three classroom windows.
On 02/11 at 2125 a motor vehicle stop on Annwood and Fernwood in the Crescent Trailer Park led to the arrest of Christine Kirk (41) and Cynthia Kirk (21), both of Mt. Ephraim. Christine was charged with Possession of CDS (3 oxycodone pills), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (crack pipe, empty baggies) and Driving While Suspended. Cynthia was charged with Possession of CDS (1 bag of crack cocaine) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (empty baggies, crack pipe). Both were charged and released.
On 02/12 at 1350 Allen Smith (46) of Camden City was charged with Shoplifting after stealing Tide pads from CVS.
On 02/17 at 0108 a motor vehicle stop on Passaic Street led to the arrest of Helen Swing (43). Swing was charged with DWI and Refusal to Submit to Breath Tests.
On 02/17 at 1118 officers responded to the 500 block of Cumberland Street for a robbery. John Reed (22) of the 300 block of Ridgeway Street was arrested and charged with Robbery after knocking an elderly female to the ground and stealing her purse. Reed was remanded to the Camden County Jail.
On 02/18 at 2251 an officer observed a male and female sitting inside a parked vehicle on the 800 block of Powell Street. Zachary Woody (20) of Azsa Semidey (24), both of the 200 block of S. Broadway were arrested and charged after the officer observed marijuana inside of the vehicle. Woody was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Semidey was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
On 02/19 at 1112 a female reported that unknown suspect(s) stole her purse from inside of her vehicle while she was inside of Heritage’s.
On 02/20 at 0130 a resident of Mays Landing reported that two unknown black males stole his IPhone. The victim met the suspects on King and Somerset Streets to sell the phone. When the victim handed one of the suspects the phone to look it over, both suspects took off running. Neither was located.
Additionally, officers responded to 26 domestic violence incidents, 9 motor vehicle accidents and 38 arrests.
