Dr. Anthony Silvestri Class of 1954 Honored by Gloucester Catholic Alumni Board

Dr. Anthony Silvestri, Class of 1954, was recognized by the Gloucester Catholic Alumni Asociation on Monday
night, January 28 with a major honor. The Alumni Association and Gloucester Catholic Junior Senior High School, formally dedicated the high school science lab as:
The retiring Alumni Association Board member enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a research scientist, a career in which he earned statewide and national recognition.
After he earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Villanova University in 1958 and a doctorate from Penn State in 1961, Dr. Silvestri embarked on a long career at Mobil, where he had held summer jobs as a teenager and where his father worked for many years.
Dr. Silvestri and his colleagues were among those recognized for their work in 2005 when they were inducted into the New Jersey Inventors Hall of Fame. In all, Dr. Silvestri holds 28 U.S. patents.
Dr. Silvestri, who grew up in Glassboro, has never forgotten his Gloucester Catholic roots, having served with the Alumni Association for many years and giving back on many occasions to his alma mater. He has been married to his wife Heand for more than 50 years and has two children and three grandchildren.
