Bellmawr Okays Special Election To Repair Roofs

During its recent meeting, the Bellmawr Board of Education (BOE) passed a resolution authorizing a special election for a School Bond Referendum concerning the district’s aging roofs.
The proposed $3.1 million bond had been voted down by 38 votes earlier this month, and will be brought again before Bellmawr voters in another election on March 12, 2013.
In other business, the Board accepted the results of the November 6 School Board Election.
Newly elected board members, Michael Eckmeyer and Chris Concannon, will be sworn in on January 3.
All other business on the board’s agenda was approved. These included:
Upcoming field trips for Bellmawr Park’s Kindergarten classes to visit Storybook Land; for the first grade classes at E.M. Burke and Bellmawr Park Schools to visit the Please Touch Museum; and for Mr. Rizzo’s eighth grade class in Bell Oaks to visit Citizens Bank Park.

The Board will not have Work Sessions during January and February, 2013.
The next action meeting will be Monday, January 28, at 6 p.m. in the Bell Oaks Media Center.
