Jubilate Deo Chorale and Orchestra, Inc. returns to the Kimmel Center as it welcomes its 21st year with a previously Sold-Out concert favorite.  Back by popular demand, this performance will feature guest choirs, Eastern University Ensembles and Church of the Saviour Festival Choir on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at 3:00p.m., at the renowned Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, Verizon Hall, 300 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA.  Maestro Dr. Ron Matthews, Chair of the Fine and Performing Arts Division and Music Department at Eastern University, St. Davids, PA and Pastor of Worship Arts at Church of the Saviour, Wayne, PA, will again take the podium to conduct the 200 Voice Mixed Chorus and Full Symphonic Orchestra in this Christmas Celebration, with a bit of Irish flair.

This performance reflects the exuberance of the Celtic culture and rich heritage through rhythmic and lyrical dances and traditional Irish instruments.  A Live Nativity Presentation will herald in this joyous season.

The Celtic style and spirit will be present in selections such as, The Wexford Carol, A Celtic Silent Night and Celtic Christmas Celebration, as well as a variety of holiday classics of, It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, Agnus Dei with O Come Let Us Adore Him, The Little Drummer Boy, A Carol Medley Sing-a-long and much more.  This performance will also debut three musical selections that are certain to warm the heart.  Concert tickets are $25-$100, with group rates available.  Bus transportation is available from Gibbsboro and Haddon Township, NJ for $20.00/seat.  Tickets go on sale after September 1st, 2012.

Msgr. Louis A. Marucci, Executive Director, expressed that there are many customs, songs, and decorations, that we hold

dear in America brought here by Irish ancestors.  In turn, many Irish Christmas traditions are rooted in other cultural

traditions, some going back to ancient times in faraway lands.  The biggest difference between Irish Christmas traditions

and American Christmas traditions is that Christmas in Ireland is more about the Spirit of Christmas and less about the

glitz and glitter.  The Sounds of the season are more prevalent.  The people of Ireland celebrate the Spirit of Christmas,

and they capture the spirit of the season with music, and with dance.
