GLOUCESTER CITY NJ-Retired Gloucester City High School teacher Vince Kuczynski visited Propriertors Park earlier this month and was surprised to see a buck, with a nice rack, at the City Marina.
Kuczynski writes, "I thought your readers would enjoy this story and the photos. Earlier this month I stop by the marina and joined a few people watching a buck that had just jumped the marina fence into the river. It swam across the river and followed the bulkhead on the Philadelphia side until it decided it couldn't locate a way out. It then swam back across the river. I took some photos of it by the seawall behind the Senior Citizen Complex. That is where it jumped out onto the concrete apron of the walk way then jumped over the railing and trotted off. The deer tried three or four times to jump out before he succeeded. City Marine Manager Lee Kramer, who is also a Gloucester High School retired teacher, called Fish and Game. They stated it was not unusual for the deer to swim in the river."
Kucznski said the incident happened around 1PM in the afternoon.
