Gloucester Catholic Junior Senior High School hosted Bishop Joseph Galante on Thursday morning, October 25, for the re-dedication of the St. Mary's building, which houses the Junior High School.

Gloucester Catholic Junior High School opened to Grade 7 and 8 students in September 2011 following the closure of the old St. Mary's Grammar School. The Junior High School has grown considerably and moved into its new home in the former St Mary's building in September after the building was refurbished this past summer.

Bishop Galante commended the Gloucester Catholic staff, students, and community for coming together to reopen the St. Mary's facility. "This has been a wonderful community effort and I praise you for your accomplishments," he told the students, staff, and administrators.

GC Junior High, now in its second school year, has grown to 70 students in Grades 7 and 8. The new Junior High School has 12 classrooms, a new conference center, computer lab and a football weight-room facility,

"The Junior High School has really grown steadily and the students feel like a part of the high school, although they are still separate," Gloucester Catholic Principal John Colman said. "Our faculty members and community leaders have done a great job in leading this effort, and this has really been quite a success story."
