Ready, Vet, Go!

The goal of Ready, Vet, Go! is to promote housing stability among very low-income veterans and their families who reside in or are transitioning into permanent housing. To become a participant for direct services and intensive case management in the Ready, Vet, Go! Program an individual must first meet the following conditions:



Be a member of a „Veteran Household‰, which is defined as a member of a family in which the head of household, or the spouse of the head of household, is a Veteran. Veteran being defined for this grant as an individual who has served in one of the branches of the US Military on active duty, other than basic training and job skill training, or who has been deployed across state lines as a member of either The National Guard or Reserves.

Be very low-income, which is defined as being 50% or below the area median income as determined by HUD.

Occupying Permanent Housing as defined in three categories:
(1) Is residing in permanent housing
(2) Is homeless and scheduled to become a resident of permanent housing within 90 days pending the location or development of housing suitable for permanent housing.
(3) Has exited permanent housing within the previous 90 days to seek other housing that is responsive to the very low-income Veteran Family‚s needs and preferences.
Reside in the Diocese of Camden which is comprised of Salem, Cumberland, Gloucester, Camden, Cape May, and Atlantic Counties.

If a Veteran is deemed eligible for the program they will be assisted through intensive case management along with possibly being assisted with direct funds for the following:
(1) Rental Assistance
(2) Utility Assistance
(3) Rental Security Deposit
(4) Utility Deposit
(5) Transportation(bus vouchers) 

If a Veteran is not eligible for the program, that Veteran will be assisted through referral services, whether that may be community, government, VA or other additional services.
