Diocese of Camden: Nonpublic School Technology Initiative

Jun 27, 2012 10:15 am | [email protected] (Maria D'Antonio)

Catholic Schools need help in asking Governor Christie NOT to redline the full restoration of the Nonpublic School Technology Initiative in the final version of the FY '13 Budget.    The Nonpublic School Technology Initiative was first removed from the Budget by Governor Corzine and has remained completely out of the Budget for the last two subsequent budget cycles.  Governor Christie restored 50% of the amount ($20.00 per pupil) in his State Budget for FY ’13.  The FY ’13 budget restores the entire $40.00 amount for the Nonpublic School Technology Initiative.

The Technology Initiative has been important over the years to Catholic schools and the loss of this money at the rate of $40.00 per pupil has a significant negative impact.
