Freeholders to Meet in Gloucester Township
The Freeholder Board will hold a town meeting on June 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the Camden County College Connector Building, 200 College Drive, Blackwood. Their monthly meeting will follow at 7:00 p.m.
Library named in honor of first Hispanic Assemblywoman Nilsa Cruz-Perez
On Tuesday, June 19 at 1:00 p.m. the Freeholder Board will name the Downtown Camden Branch of the Camden County Library System in honor of Nilsa Cruz-Perez, the first Hispanic woman to be elected to the New Jersey General Assembly. The recently renovated 5,000-square-foot library is located on the lower level of the Paul Robeson Library at Rutgers University, Camden, 300 N. 4th Street.
Station Avenue Drainage Improvements
The Camden County Department of Public Works will begin a project to alleviate the drainage issues on Station Avenue in Haddon Heights (CR 656) on July 9, weather permitting. The project in Haddon Height’s main thoroughfare includes the installation of a new 24-inch pipe to collect to divert water from the flood-prone area.

Students care for Camden’s Von Nieda Park
Students from St. Anthony of Padua School have painted park benches with inspirational messages and a mural on the Cramer Hill Community Center. The concerned students also worked with county and city officials to clean the park and deter illegal dumping. Their efforts earned them the Jefferson Award for environmental stewardship. Atlantic City Road Closure
If you are planning on taking the Black Horse Pike to Atlantic City this weekend, be aware that traffic will be detoured off of Albany Avenue between Bader Field and Atlantic Avenue on Saturday and Sunday at 11:30 a.m. for about an hour. Westbound lane restrictions will also be in place throughout the weekend in the same area due to a concert. NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org and telephone service 511 will feature regular updates on travel conditions around the Atlantic City area.
